The launch of Windows 10 was mostly well received, but some concerns were raised about data collection and sharing by the operating system. Microsoft insists that there is no sinister spying going on in its latest consumer operating system, but some users still would prefer to disable data collection and sharing services and features within Windows.
You can do this manually if you know how, but most users will look to third party tools to do it for them.
Phrozensoft Windows Privacy Tweaker is an app that can very quickly and easily disable potentially privacy-threatening services, scheduled tasks and also get rid of some related registry information.
If the status of a service is shown in red, it can quickly be changed to Green (disabled) by ticking a box, and the same can be done for the Task Scheduler and Registry entries.
A further USB security option can make USB devices Real Only, or even disable USB devices, for the sake of greatly enhanced security.
It also can disable privacy risks in older versions of Windows, but is mainly aimed toward Windows 10.
