Screen Locker is a freeware application that will lock your screen and won't unlock it without a password.
You simply choose a password you want and lock the screen. Other users who attempt to use your computer will need to provide the password in order to gain access to the Desktop.
This is a very useful tool for home use (it is also free for home and corporate usage), but you probably shouldn't rely on it too much as a security measure in a corporate environment. If you forget your password you can get around it by restarting your computer.
